I have visited many wine countries and have oh so many to visit. And I certainly have those that are nearby and I visit often and there are those not terribly nearby that rest on my mind.
Wine countries are evocative and are all beautiful– at least I think so–I love the terrain, terroir and people and of course the wines you meet along the way.
I feel the need to connect with those places where I both drink wine and year to make their discovery. The historical path as well as current development of the wine world unfurl many places–that you could travel from the beginning to the end of the year.
Right now–coming to mind;
Ribera del Duero
Santa Cruz Mountains (my plan to visit keeps moving and yes I am nearby)
Valle de Guadalupe
Turkey (yes, I would love to to EWBC12)
Willamette Valley (going in August)
Côtes du Jura
Republic of Georgia
Wondrous wines and sojourns ahead–discovery of great wines, land, people and food from these and other great lands as well. And this least is by all means not listing every single wine country to visit– just those that come top of mind this very instance.
