Penfolds Southeast Australia Yattarna Chardonnay – 2001 – 9.3 – James Meléndez / James the Wine Guy

Bottle #16185

Yattarna is an aboriginal word meaning: little-by-little.
I kept thinking this bottle would have survived but that I would have missed out on the best years.
This wine did not turn the tell tale color of gold instead it retained it’s beautiful straw colour.
There is an initial hint of sweet but it quickly comes into focus as a dry wine.
Notes of lemon meringue, green apple, nutmeg, vanilla and Marjoram.
Enjoying this wine little-by-little.
