Yorkville Yorkville Highlands Malbec – 2007 – 8.9- James Meléndez / James the Wine Guy

Another example of North American Malbec that is unique different from it’s southern hemisphere brethren but that can stand on it’s own as a bonafide Malbec.  This wine exhibits characteristics of blackberry-blueberry confit, forest floor in Fall, bramble, slight mid-Fall herbs, and cardamom and pepper.

Yorkville Yorkville Highlands Cabernet Franc – 2007 – 8.9 – James Meléndez / James the Wine Guy

This unique Cabernet Franc from Mendocino is quite rare; a Bordeaux varietal far north and west of Napa county—a much hotter climate for this grape.  This wine exhibits significant earth notes: mushroom-truffle, wood, fallen leaf; sweet spice and herb and black pepper.
