Demystifying Wine

Kabaj Goriška Brda Amfora – 2007 – 9.3 – James Meléndez / James the Wine Guy

A rich and authentic expression of what Goriška Brda can produce; this is a sterling blend of white wine grapes that are fermented and aged in a 3,000 litre amfora—an ancient way of making wine.  This is a difficult wine to make but demonstrates a deep commitment to wines that are unique, lively and convincing.

The result is a wine that has mid-hue gold colour; a Cognac signature; crisp yet rustic and allows for a cascading notes of Adriatic fig, crisp Green apple, Cardamom, and slight white pepper.

Varietals:

  • Rebula,
  • Malvazija
  • Sauvignonasse
