Wente Louis Mel Livermore Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2010 – 8.9 – James Meléndez

Louis Mel was a French immigrant who took Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon cuttings from the Marquis de Lur Saluce (Chateau d’Yquem). This wine is 13% alcohol content.

This wine exhibits of Meyer lemon zest, sesame, Comice pear, hint of papaya, and white floral notes.

A discovered varietal from an unexpected place—sudtirol AA —yes gorgeous SB come from this region.

Delicate and elegant wine; nicely nuanced wine; focused minerality; notes of shaved and zested citron, white rose petals, pine nut, and anise.

Château Bonnet Entre-deux-Mers – 2010 – 9.0 (out of 10.0) – James Meléndez / James the Wine Guy

This wine is 50% Sauvignon Blanc, 40% Semillon and 10% Muscadelle from the Entre duex Mer in Bordeaux.

Granny smith apple, lime citrus zest, nutmeg, almond; floral scent of Jasmine and honeysuckle.

If you think that Bordeaux is only expensive –this wine is proof positive that great value wines do come from Bordeaux.  No need to own a factory or Manhattan skyscraper to be able to afford good quality wines.  This wine is approximately $12-15 dollars in the US.
