Château Bonnet Entre-deux-Mers – 2010 – 9.0 (out of 10.0) – James Meléndez / James the Wine Guy

This wine is 50% Sauvignon Blanc, 40% Semillon and 10% Muscadelle from the Entre duex Mer in Bordeaux.

Granny smith apple, lime citrus zest, nutmeg, almond; floral scent of Jasmine and honeysuckle.

If you think that Bordeaux is only expensive –this wine is proof positive that great value wines do come from Bordeaux.  No need to own a factory or Manhattan skyscraper to be able to afford good quality wines.  This wine is approximately $12-15 dollars in the US.

Preston Dry Creek Valley Sauvignon Blanc – 2009 – 9.0 – James Meléndez / James the Wine Guy

13.4% alcohol content; I don’t often think of Dry Creek Valley as a wine region for Sauvignon Blanc; this wine exemplifies what a great region this is for Sauvignon Blanc.  Meyer lemon zest and essence; fennel and aroma of freshly roasted and shelled pine nuts.
