Valdelainos Rueda Verdejo Rueda – 2007 – 8.9 – James Meléndez / James the Wine Guy

This Verdejo exhibits a polish between acid, mineral and summer melon; a completely lovely wine that gives noticeable summer fruit and is tamed by notes of pecan and almond.  A wine that is approachable year round and is an extraordinary buy.

I purchased this bottle at Costco in Plano, TX for under $10.

Basa Rueda Blanco – 2005 – 8.8 – James Meléndez / James the Wine Guy

This is a delightful white blend containing: 50% Verdejo, 40% Viura, and 10% Sauvignon Blanc. This is a crisp, a wonderful acid; a beautiful straw color. This wine exhibits Meyer lemon zest, banana, passion fruit and lychee. A perfect wine for those who want to enjoy a striking white wine with damaging your pocket book… no compromising here.
