James the Wine Guy

Demystifying Wine

Novella Synergy Blanc Paso Robles White Blend – 2008 – 8.7 – James Meléndez / James the Wine Guy

A perfect picnic basket wine; completely accessible and appreciable with many palette preferences.   Delicate, evocative and racy acids; this is a blend of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, and Muscat Canelli the notes are exciting – white peach, kiwi, hibiscus, and long mineral finish–drier than you might expect.  All this for just $4.99 at Trader Joes.  Not sure of the distribution of this wine — and if found outside of California or another retailer I am sure it would be a different price point.  It is rare to find a $4.99 that is drinkable and this wine is not just drinkable but pleasing.  EOS is the winery producing this wine.
