Kendric Marin County Pinot Noir – 2007 – 9.0 – James Meléndez / James the Wine Guy

A county not terribly well known for wine production—there are some nice wines coming from here. Bounty of tart cherry, baking spices, red floral notes, and hint of vanilla.

*** ¡Salud!

Pey-Martin Marin County “Trois Filles” Pinot Noir – 2008 – 9.1 (out of 10.0) – James Meléndez / James The Wine Guy

Rare; while Pinot Noir is not that common—still further rarer is any wine from Marin county.  This wine gives glorious notes of early harvest strawberry, black cherry Coulis, slight bacon and Porcini accents.

¡Salud!

Pey Marin Marin County Pinot Noir – 2006 – 8.9 – James Meléndez / James the Wine Guy

Most people don’t realize that on the way to wine country from San Francisco are passing a very little known wine producing county—one of California’s wealthiest.  But this makes sense considering it is perfectly cool and for a Pinot Noir grape this is a good home.  This wine presents with vitreous hues, notes of rose petals, ground cardamom, black pepper and roasted blackberry.
