Blason Friuli Isonzo Cabernet Franc – 2008 – 8.9 – James Meléndez / James the Wine Guy

This wine is a nice homage of this wine that is prominent as a blending grape in Bordeaux with an Italian accent. This wine gives notes of Crimini and Pioppini mushroom, fennel, anise and blueberry.

Beltrame Friuli Cabernet Franc – 2005 – 9.2 – James Meléndez / James the Wine Guy

A slightly vitreous wine with beauty hues of dark ruby red, one first inspect of scent there is almost no nose to indicate this is Cabernet Franc (there is a scent that obviously indicates this is wine).  The profile of this wine are gorgeous notes of blissful earthen notes: cedar, Plum orchard, fennel, medley of wild mushrooms, delicate and focused dark cherry accented with cedar.  Supple acid, 13% alcohol and unforgettable tasting notes make  for a wine that is a delight.
