St. Amant Amador County Vintage Port – 2006 – 9.1 – James Meléndez / Jaime Patricio Meléndez

St. Amant produces quite nice Lodi wines and I have to say their vintage Port was such a nice homage to the mothership’s Port.  This wine is not just a fortified wine but a wine utilizing Portuguese varietals: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesa, Tinta Roriz, Souzao, Tinta Cao, and Bastardo.  This wine presents with honeyed blueberry-blackberry notes with ground allspice.

A fortified Cabernet Sauvignon that is sassy.  This is a fortified wine that may talk back–20% alcohol.   Deep raisin, cassis, and clover honey.
