Rosenhof Burgenland Blaufränkisch Eiswein – 2005 – 9.2 – James Meléndez / James the Wine Guy

I am a huge fan of Eiswein and a Blaufränkisch Eiswein is interesting and complex.  The best of many conceivable worlds; spice and sweet; Eiswein as well as any other sticky can go from superb to dull in a matter of seconds.  The art form is to make a complex wine that has strength and boldness but also delicate to bring subtle notes forward.  This wine accomplishes so much—fragrant notes of rose petal, honeyed pear, cardamom and cinnamon and white pepper.
