Baldacci a small producer of wines quartered on Silvailerado Trail. I was wondering on the famed Silverado Trail– I had passed this verymi small winery–you could pass this place easily but I was determined to go to a new winery and eager to make a discovery. Carneros does produce a remarkable grape. This Merlot is rich with extra silky tannins; cedar, bramble, truffle honey, chocolate, and simmering spice. I wish I had purchased more bottles. A most splendid purchase.
¡Salud!

Merlot from Carneros…yes..it’s true. I am a fan of Merlots from Carneros and higher elevations in Napa. Merlot seems to be having a renaissance above the valley floor. This is a bold wine, gorgeous tannins, and splendid notes of blackberry confit, cedar box, black Krim tomato, Porcini mushroom, and allspice.

A thick, highly viscous wine (tannins of plenty) provide a wonderful frame to stitch this wine together. This wine gives an elegant earthy tone, field mushroom, Boysenberry, spicy wood, and Enoki.

A very bold Chardonnay not overpowered by it’s oak component. This chardonnay plays homage to the coolness of its Carneros beginnings. Each phasic taste was balanced, smooth, subtle and rich. This wine exhibits gorgeous acid, Kadota fig, a kiss of nutmeg, nectarine, papaya, and straw.

Buena Vista Carneros Ramal Vineyard Pinot Noir 2005 presents with subtle pepper, slight cardamom and cinnamon, dark red berries and vanilla. This is a nice Pinot Noir but I was not enamored with it.
