Penfolds RWT Barossa Valley Shiraz – 2006 – 9.2 – James Meléndez / James the Wine Guy

A well structured wine and I can imagine after a few years in will become it will become even more dynamic.

This wine is bold but not overwhelming; wondrous herbaceous notes like Eucalyptus and fennel; roasted dark red fruit; black plum, blueberry, raspberry and accented with soft notes of nutmeg and pepper.

I have a first vintage of RWT and I do look forward to trying someday–just trying to figure out when that will be.

Thom Clark William Randell Kabininge Vineyard Barossa Shiraz – 2004 – 9.1 – James Meléndez / Jaime Patrico Meléndez

Dark fire engine red and oak pronounced wine with long living deep red berries – boysenberry, blackberry, black pepper, and an unexpected mineral finish.
