Talley Arroyo Grande Rosemary Vineyard Pinot Noir – 2000 – 9.3 – James Meléndez / James the Wine Guy

A decade later this wine is still formidable–powerful, muscular; giving notes of blueberry Confit, Eucalyptus, pine nuts, allspice.  Dark and time i in the bottle was a complete benefit.  This wine has another 5-8 years left–amazing for a US Pinot Noir.

Bottle #4435

¡Salud!

Talley Estate Arroyo Grande Valley Pinot Noir – 2004 – 9.2 James Meléndez / James the Wine Guy

Talley vineyards produces not only reliable Pinot’s but Pinots with a luxe and silken art. I recently delighted in this Pinot with it’s bold structure that holds considerable finesse. I enjoy that it is not overly peppered or scented but a rich wine that you choose to swallow too quickly but let it suspend in your mouth to enjoy the nuances of white pepper, hints of cardamom, allspice, candied plum, and a bounteous cherry glaze. I look to my next bottle of of Talley Pinot as I anticipate a holiday.
