Palmeri Alexander Valley Van Ness Vinenyard Syrah – 2005 – 8.9 - James Meléndez / Jaime Patricio Meléndez

Starts off with a brooding Malabar pepper and tobacco; and the while the pepper cools a crescendo of dark wildberries finish the experience; each subsequent breath will relive just a slight hint of this wine.

Blue Rock Alexander Valley Syrah - 2004 - 8.8 - James Meléndez / Jaime Patricio Meléndez

A linear wine; don’t read dull into that phrase; I mean this is a wine that has consistency; this is a disciplined Syrah that does not overwhelm.  The acids are rounded and silky and the flavor signature has sweet cedars to moist earth; baking spices, and plum confit.
