Chateau Grand Puy Lacoste Pauillac – 2000 – 9.4 – James Meléndez /James the Wine Guy

70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, and 5% Cabernet Franc.

I anticipate and look forward to each bottle of Grand Puy Lacoste that I have been blessed to taste; may seem a bit dramatic but it is a wine and winemaker that produce an amazing wine vintage over vintage; in spite of weather conditions this wine is filled with character and pure elegance. This wine is emotive and evocative and quite nearly haunting. This wine exhibits generous spice, wood, acid, and fruit; nutmeg, saffron, dark cherry, cedar, raspberry confit, Poblano chile, and clean mineral.
